| 1 - The Twilight Twins join hands in a business venture. All they need now are clients, and they know exactly where to get them; astral St. Augustine, Florida. The ancient city is so alive with spectral energy, and plenty of competition for clients is to be expected. But who could dare deny the artistry of the Twilight Twins? Devious suggests, which is to say commands, they name the business Crypt Couture, but Dubious is dubious. This won't stop Devious because she has an ulterior motive for creating the business. She wants to become a Go Back to the Whorl, and she thinks St. Aug holds answers about how to do that. Devious begins to scheme; some of the ideas she comes up with are not at all pleasant, but then neither is she. Dubious knows her sister is scheming something, so she casts spells to protect herself using the Blood Account Book. It records the deeds of humans in the Whorl and it foretells the future. The Book tells the Twins about the coming of the Pilgrim, but they are busy critiquing her shroud instead of heeding the Book. All shrouded figures traveling on the Twilight Path seem similar, but the Pilgrim is nothing all like them. Further on down the Path, Devious does not see the Stranger, lucky for him. She would have insisted he explain to her the nature of his personal reality. He would have refused her, of course. The Stranger does not recall ever being along in the Whorl. His companions are always with him, and they are also himself. This is the Great Mystery. Entering the portal to the astral plane becomes an enlightenment because of all the diverse Lightbeings there who create a thriving community and culture. The bright light shines through the St. Augustine portal, which means the vampyre hasn't stolen it again. Better hurry up and enter before he does! |
